Akaash impex was started in 1993 as a design and production house for high end accessories; subsequently we added women’s fashion to our portfolio with the first order in 1995 from Takisada of Japan.

Starting our manufacturing career in garments with the Japanese as our first customers, ensured systems, compliances and impeccable quality standards. Their support helped us set up our factory with latest technology and machinery.

In the late 90’s we added another dimension to our company – couture hand embroidery. We employ artists and designers who work with our hand work artisans to bring out new techniques in age old hand work traditions.

After having focused business in the United Kingdom and Europe for the last few years, Akaash Impex is now expanding it's client base to include the U.S.A. after a hiatus of 6 years. With the addition of a new factory on the outskirts of Mumbai,the production capacity has doubled as well.

We strive to work only with the best in the industry and challenge ourselves with design and quality to maintain our position as one of the leading design oriented manufacturing companies of India.

We work with our buyers to attain the best practices in systems and compliances. We believe and support the ethical trade initiative and work hard and aggressively on the lines of the ethical trade framework and guidelines, and will continue to do so.

Akaash Impex is compliant with all local labour and factory laws and follows the guidelines of the Ethical Trading Initiative.

The factory is audited every few months and the audit reports are available on request.

Our clients look to us for products that have unique value additions and techniques. Our product range varies from basic garments with lace inserts to rotary/screen/digital printed garments to multicolour thread embroidered garments and finally to haute couture garments with intricate embellishments. We leave no stone unturned to deliver samples our clients expect when they send through their developments.

Our Mission

  • In-House Manufacturing:

    • We have only taken limited orders from day one so as to ensure our standards of quality are maintained.

  • People Growth:

    • Our Pattern Masters, Quality Controllers, Quality Inspectors, Lady Hand workers and Cutting Masters have all started off as machinists or helpers and have been trained to be masters in their department to achieve a standard that is internationally accepted and recognized. We also distribute a part of our profits as bonuses to our employees and hence make them partners in our growth.

  • Technician Training:

    • We train new machinists to our quality standards on ten training machines before they are allowed to do main production. All our machinists are paid above mean market remuneration so as to attract and keep the best talent at Akaash Impex.

  • Focus on Ladies Wear:

    • We manufacture only ladies wear, mostly woven and about 25% in jersey. This has ensured the art of women’s wear is perfected.

  • Design is our forte:

    • We strive to understand the needs of every label in terms of design and give our input keeping in mind the current trends.

  • Working with couture labels:

    • A part of our capacity is always used for high-end designers as they give us a free hand and allow experimentation with new materials, fabrics and techniques in embroidery. Our big buyers benefit with inspiration from our designer collections for their ranges.

  • Use of Quality Raw Materials:

    • We use only mill-made fabrics, even for lower price range garments, as this ensures no quality problem and hence no wastage in fabrics.

  • Continuous Quality Control:

    • At every stage, everything from fabrics to embroidery materials are tested, irrespective of the size of the order.
